Art & Design Internship

Phoenix Athens offers internship opportunities to students, graduates and professionals in the fields of Art, Design and Culture.

We are looking for creatives, artists, designers, curators, cultural engineers, cultural project managers, technicians, etc, willing to participate in the functioning of an artist-run-space, the implementation of artistic residencies, events and exhibitions. 

 

Description : 

You will be joining the team of Phoenix Athens and taking part in the development and implementation of artistic and cultural projects. 

 

According to your profile and previous experiences, this could include projects ideation, development, implementation, communication, administration and technical assistance. You are also welcome to suggest your own project to Phoenix Athens’s team and develop it with our help.

 

Examples of roles and assigned tasks :

Gallery Assistant (Administration role)

• Management assistance with administration and proper functioning of Gallery and residency operations

• Assigning roles to other team members

• Planning exhibitions to include assistance with creative writing and translations from English to Greek

• Scheduling appointments between the director and candidate artists and artists in residence.

• Archiving and curating of artwork and artists

• Coordinating sales and bookkeeping

• Assistance monitoring Basic accounting (expenses and profits)

• Sales assistance to include issuing invoices and record-keeping of clients

Gallery technician 

• Installation and deinstallation for exhibitions

• Gallery & Makerspace maintenance for guests and visiting artists

• Provide technical assistance for visiting artists

• Maintain equipment & tools  for safety

• Inventory of VA and other equipment used for exhibitions

• Insure that spaces are clean, fully functional

Sales and Marketing assistant

• Assistance monitoring Basic accounting (expenses and profits) 

• Sales to include issuing invoices

• Raising grants and artistic funds

• Updating Gallery's website

• Making artistic sales

• Liaise with Digital Media Assistant

Media Assistant

• Updating website

• Assistance with creative writing and translations from English to Greek

• Assist with newsletter campaign
