Olympia Antoniadis

Olympia Antoniadis' six-week residency this Summer has inspired a new series of works, exploring how image making can reflect conscious and unconscious states of mind. Her time in Athens and with Phoenix led her to engage with her Greek ancestry and the collective memories of her family. Antoniadis is particularly interested in mourning as a shared experience and the ways in which this can be expressed through a brushstroke or the symbolic resonance of objects, places and materials such as candle wax and cherry juice.
